GIRLS POSE A.S DRUNKEN SAILORS
SYDXEY, April 27. Thrce Svdnev girls dressed as men and posed tis drunken sailors to gel aboard the United States freighter Kphraim Bevard in Svdney on April 12. Eadio messages from the ship's captain state that the girls will be put ashore at Balboa-and kept there under custody until tlie United States authorities can return Ihem to Australia by the first ship leaving tlie canal zone ■ for Svdnej7. Details of the eseapade were given by anothev girl who works in a Svdney boardinghouse. She said that two of the girls, both uuder 21, became engaged to niembers, of the ship's company. Thev wanted a double ' wedding but tlieir parents did not. replv to urgent telegrams requesting tlieir cousent. AVifli the help of their American fiances the girls, with anotlier aged 22, dressed in men's clotlies and United States 'Army raineoats, and staggered aboard just before sailing time as if they were drunken ercw members remrning to duty.
