Cup was played in connection with the above match. In the "top dogs" competition the holders, J. Mabey and W. Stern, were successful in warding off a challenge from H. and J. Stern by two up and one to play. On Sunday conditions were more favourable and there was a good gathering of players on the links. A captain's and vice-cap-tain's match was played and the following is the result, players in the captain's team being menUoned first in each instance: J. Mabey defeated F. Picard, H. Mabey defeated N. Mabey, H. Stern lost
to K. Thomson, H. Pope lost to W. Stern, H. Karena lost to D. Purcell, J. Bell halved with B. Harris, C. Booker defeated J. Stern, E. Homer defeated A. Smith and Hannison lost to V. Pope. ^ Handicau Reductions The handicap committee was busy over the weekend once again, and as players are settling down i to their old form so the handicaps J are reduced/ Those reductions over the weekend are: H. Karena , from 22—17 to 21—16. V. Pope 19 J — 15 to 16 — 12, B. Harris 26 — 20 to 23—17, D. Purcell 25—19 to 23— 17 and C. Booker 25 — 19 to 22 — 17. Anzac Tournament Commencing next Saturday afternoon with a medal round and ; teams match, the Buckly Club will . hold a two-day Anzac tournament. ; - On Sunday morning a bogey : ! match will be played and in the , afternoon a men's faursome will , be the attraction. Good prizes are being offered and it is* expected [ that the fixture will be a popular r one, not only with local players . but with heighbouring clubs. : Players are requested to provide } their own lunch, but hot tea will be supplied on, both days.
