Sandford, was febeived by the' Levin Borough Council at a meeting last night. He stated that since his appointment the fatepayers had rejeeted the Idan proposals plaeed before them fdr certain public works, and as a rCSult the need for a fullime ehgineer had disappeared. He had; therefore, obtained a positidn . as assistant- engineer to ihe Rangitikei Corinty Council in dr'der to! saVe the council unnecessary expense. The council expressed r'egret at. Mr". Sandford's i^esignation and appreciation of his action. Good wishes were extended to him for 6very success and happin.ess in his new sphere. •
