RAIN INTERRUPTS PLAY The bowling match for the Olliver Memorial Shield between Otaki and Otaki Railway Clubs was commenced on the. Railway green on Sat'urday, but shortly after. 3 o'clockhad to be abandoned on account -.of rain. • Up to this time the green, althougn damp, played well, and some interesting Leads resulted. Afternoon tea was provided by the Railway Club and mjoyed. Fonowing are results of games, eleven heads being played when rain fell: J. Noble, Gow, Hook, R. iVIerwood (sj lost to Henderson 's rink 12 — 10; McGilligan, Robertson, Southgate, Wilson, beat Dickson, Bailey, Watt, Booth ,(s) 11— 5; Temuera, Keains, Purvis, Pike (s), lost to Rleay, Rule, Olliver, Webster (s) 15—7; Boggs, Nicolson;.Cahill, Grey (s), lost to Hart, Parata, Chenweddon, Symonds (s) 14—7; S. Merwood's rink beat Field, Knox, Rich, Ralph 12—5. Games: Railway three, Otaki two. Points: Railway 52, Otaki 49. It was decided that this count as a game. but another of 21 heads will be played next weekend, commencing at 1.30 p.m. sharp.
