WHERE THE FINGER POINTS.

WELLINGTON, April 15. The Minister of Rehabililatioii, Ilon. 0. F. Skinncr, has suggostcd that I'ariners who are tired of the uuequal struggle should make their properties available to returned servicemen, says an ofiieial statemcnt of Federated Farmers. Mr. Skinner said he is willing to point a tinger at the older farmers who choose to restrict their efforts. It is interesting to note fliat 'Mr. Skinner is an advoeate of hard and rcnewed efforts on the part of the people of" New Zealand and it is also of iuterest to enquire whether or not the Minister will also point a fingcr at those people who are restricting their efforts by striking and by going slow. Will he also point a' finger at those people who, tlirough the practice of "spelling," aetually work half the numlier of 4iours for whieh they are paid«? What Mr. Skinner should realise is that sorne of the tired farmers who are getting siek oi' the unequal struggle are aetually still working eonsiflerably longer hours than most of the people in otlier sections of the eommunity And have therefore more occasion to be tired. Further Federated Farmers suggests that if Mr. Skinner is going to point a finger at all those people who are not doing their l'air share of work in New Zealand, he is going to be kept exoecdingly busy.
