HANDING BACK TRADE TO PRIVATE ENTERPRISE
Receved Tuesday, 8.30 p.m. LONDON, April 15. The Government is preparing to hand haox Britain's overseas shop]iing to private enterprise, says the Daily Kail. Dr. Edith SuxnmerskLl gave the strongest official hint of this step v/hen she said there would be no more bulk purchases of tea from India and Ceylon. The Daily Mail adds that . the Government is consulting merchants and brokers who handled prewar im- ' pot-ts.
