Attacked by an unknown intruder who broke into her bedroom at i> o'clock yesterday morning, JMrs. A Harrison, widow, living at 2(i Dixon Avenue, Hawera, suffered severe shoci. i and two sealp wounds presumably b blows from a blunt instrument. Mrs i Harrison lives with her daughter, Mr- ; M. Mattliews, who was roused b ( shouts from «her mother's room. JMrs Matthews was going to her assistanc 1 when slie caught a glimpse of a ma leaving through the front door of th house. He had taken the precautio of reraoving the fuse at the electri light meter so -that the lights could no- . be switehed oii. Nothing was missinr from the liouse.
