At the time of the disbandment oi the llrd (X.Z.) Division it was decided that the reniaining patriotic funds oi the various units be disposed of by puli li«hiug 13 unoflieial histories coverinf. the activities of corps and units sinca the old Piji days. A start was made in Xovember, 11)44, biit many unf'oreseei and unavoidable delavs arose, due prim arily to the diffieulty of importinj.' paper and binding cloth, and the firsl hook did not appear nntil August, 1946 This was the Medieal volume. EarJv in Octobei' the Engineer vol ume was published and "Base Wailahs ' ' should appear this month. The order in which the books will be published will probablv be as under: — (1) Medieal (published) ; (2) Engineers (published); (3) Base; (4) 29th Battalion; (5) 35th Battalion; (6) H.Q. and Signals; (7) 34tli Battalion; (8) A.S.O.; (9) 30th Battalion: (10) 37th Battalion; (11) Tanks and Ordnance; (12) 30th Battalian; (13) AVtillery. This is roughlv the order in which manuscripts were snbmitted but is stil! subject to alteration according to block-niaking and other technical diffi cultics.
