THREAT WITHDRAWN.
ADELAIDE, April 14. A mass meeting of tramwaymen de cided to withdraw their threat to strik a week from today. The decision j conditional on other unions agreoing t call the strike olf. It follows an an nounceinent by the Premier (Alr. Play ford), that subjeet to a recommenda tion from the Oonciliation Oommission er, the Arbitration Court will be aske to apply to railwaymen and tramwa> men in South Australia time-and-a-half pay for baturday worK. The Australian Raiiways' Union, tln Australian Federation of Locomotivi Enginemen, and the Transport Work ers' Union lnive yet to decide wliethei they will strike on tlie same issue. Tramwaymen are still prcssing a claim for doulile time on Sun days.
