MOVES IN DOV GRUNER'S APPEAL

Received Tuesday, 11.10 a.m. JERUSALEM, April 14. In London today the firm of London solicitors lodged, on behalf of Israel Rockach, Mayor of Tel Aviv, a petition with the Privyj Gouncil seeking leave to appeal against the death sentence on Dov, Gruner. The firm also cabled the British High Commissioner in Palestine, Lieut.-General Sir Alanl Cunningham, that the petition had been lodged. The Palestine Government earlier today informed the solicitors that the petition which the firm cabled to the Government on April 8, seeking a postponement of Dov Gruner's execution nending an appeal to the Privy Council, had been commimicated to Lieut.-General MacMillan, G.O.C. in Palestine. The Government added that no undertaking could be given that the solicitors' request could be granted.
