Personal Mrs. Barnett's brother, Mr. Lewis Wickliffe, is staying with his sister pending admission to the Palmerston North Hospital. Miss Ellen Moy'nihan, of Auckland, who lived in Shannon as a child, is spending a holiday locally as the guest of Mrs. J. Barnett, Engle's Road. It will be a fortnight before Mrs. J. D. Campbell, of Mangaore, returns home from Clevedon, Auckland, where she is staying - with her sister, Mrs. A. J. Smales. March Weather Temperatures recorded in Shannon during the month of March were as follows, those in parentheses being for March, 1946: — Highest day temperature in shade, 77 degrees on the 12th (79 degreesj ; lowest day temperature, 59 degrees on the 27th (60 degrees) ; highest night temperature, 62 degrees on the 11th (67 degrees) ; lowest night temperature, 43 degrees on the 2nd (45 degrees) . The average day temperature for the month was 69.16 degrees, as agai'nst 68,87 degrees last year. The average night temperature was 54.9 degrees, which was slightly below last year's average of 55.83 degrees. Rain fell on eleven days at No. 1 dam, Mangahao, and measured .86 of an inch, while at Mangaore rain fell on seven days and the total was .42 of an inch.
