15,000 PEOPLE FILE PAST COFFIN
CHRISTCHURCH, April 11. iMore than 15,000 people filed past the collin of Hon. D. G. Sullivan today in ihe most remarkable demonstration of sorrovv ever .-.een in Christchurch. There >vere several hundreds waiting outside Ihe Civic Theatre when the doors were oponod at 10 a.m. and several hundred were shut out when the doors were closed at 9 p.m. Between those times, except for an interval wliile" the doors wero closed for a Maori farewell, .there was a continuous procession past the collin. It liegan at the rate of 1400 persons an hour antf at times during the ov.eriing more than 2000 persons an lioui passed through the foyer of the theatre. Nothing like it could be rexnciubcred by ihe atteiulants.
