CLUB HAS SUCCESSFUL DAY AT OTAKI The annual horse sports of the Otaki and District Horse Ciub were heici on the Otaki racecourse o'li Easier Monday. Although the aitendance was aisappomtiiig aue to counter attractions, those {present spent a very enjoyaoie- aay. The programme was a well palanced one, there being events for all horses, as well as for ponies. This year there- was a new cup, known as the Hautere Cup, presented for compecition at the paddock sports usually hel.d ai Easter, but as the annual sports and paadock sports were comDined this year, it was deeidea chat the maiden jumping com~ petition be the event in which uhe cup was competed for. Mr. S. G. Perry, Feilding, was judge for- all the norse events. Tne following is a list of the prize-winners

During the day chiidren's foot races and lolly scrambles were held under the capable management of Mr.' Knox and other will .ng helpers. The chain stepping competition was won by Mr. Jo Fogden and the weight-guessinr by Mr. Garret, whose guess of 71^ lbs. was correct.
