•LEVIN'S APRIL MEETING ? There was a very good attehd--anoe of members 'at the April meaBing of the Levin Women's Insthute, when Mrs. Kelloway .presided. The president called lor one minute's .silencc in memory tof cne lace Mrs. Boyer, -who had been ■ a 'long and -va^uable 'meiriber. • •It was .decided .to .hold -.all -future meetings in the afternoon. In the past the summer -meetings had oeen held in the evening. The half-yearly meeting of the South Wellington Federation will be held at Manakau on April 30, a hus leaving Bath Street at 9.45 aim. The delegates for the meeting will .be Mesdames Dalton ;and Trotman. Members were reminded of the •collection of produce for the Y:W.C.A. Opportunity Shop held iin Wellington every Friday. Goads may be left at the R.S.A. Rooms, iOxford .Street, -on May 1. The chil•dren's party, which was post..poned af'Christmas, . will now he iheld on May 3. The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. Bennett, .of Ohau. Her •subject was "Baths, Ancient and Modern," and her talk was very •bright and amusing. The collec'tion -of soap for overseas parcels was very successful. ' The monthly competitions were won .as f ollows : — Something new from something old: Mrs. McLeavey 1, Mrs. Maugham 2, Mrs. Satherley 3. Tomato sauce: Mrs. McLeavey 1, Mrs. Cheeseman 2, Mrs. Mearing 3. Best shrub: Mrs. Suhan 1, Mrs. Dalton ,2, Mrs. Maugham 3. Rhubarb: Mrs. Trotman 2, Mrs. Mearing 3; howers: Mrs. Spencer 1, Mrs. Glover 2, Mrs. Young 3.
