LQNDON, April 9; Don Juan's denunciation of Franco's prqposed law of succession is weleomed in official London quarters as another blow at the existing regime -in Spain, says the Daily Telegraph 's diplomafic correspondent. it is reeognised, he adds, that Ffanco's attempt to enlist the supporf of the Monarehists has failed and that his position has been made wofse. Tlie Daily Telegraph 's Madrid correspondent says the Monarehists naturally strongjy support Don Juan?s attitude but some of them still cling to the ijea of a restorqtion with Franco 's collaboration. This, they say, would avoid unpleasantness and (ielay. Eepublieuns and the Left Wing generally- support gny attitude against Franco. By sup'porting .a monarehy as the flrst step they think that some day they eould ovqrthrow it and re-establisli a Eepublic.
