Eeceived Wedftesday) 8 p.m. NEW-YORK, April 8» The sports promoter, Jim Downipg, has offered the heavyweight ehampvon Joe Louis' a guarantee of 200,000 dollars to meet Melio Bettina' in a title bout of ten rounds at Salt Lake City on August 12. Joe Louis said he knew nothing about the guarantee offered by Downing. Personally he did not think lie would gq for such a proposition aud he did not think fans would go for it eitlier. Bettina was a good figliter but he bad not, doue much and needed more experience.
