Missing Man Found Dead Missing from his home since 3 p.m. last Thursday, Mr- William Loveday, aged 78 years, of 24 Bryant Street, Palmerston North, was found dead in Fitzroy Park yesterday afternoon. An inquest was ope'ned at 9 o'clock this morning for purpose of identification. Exodus of Insects A mass exodus of insects is oecurring as the water rises in the Karapiro lake. Basketball Opening At the recent annual general meeting of the Horowhenua Basketball Assoeiation it was decided to open the season on Saturday, April 19, with a knockout competition',- commencing at 1 p.m. on the college courts. The new representative colours of the assoeiation will be red gym fro.ck, white blouse, blue tie and blue blazer. These .colours are now in line with other Horowhenua representative .colours. It was reported at a recent meeting of the management ,c.omr mittee of the Horowhenua Rugby Uniom that six representative matclies had ' been arranged for the coming season. The Manawatu and Wairarapa matches would be played away, bu.t the Bush, Wanganui, Wellington and Manawatu games would be played in Horowhenua. .• It was decided at the meeting to offer to* the public season tiekets' at a cost of £i ls.
