The church was filled with rela«tives and friends, the majority of whom had travelled long distances in order to honour the young couple and witness the ceremony of their being joined in the bonds of holy matrimony by Rev. J. Haroid Datson, of Foxton. The service was full-y choral, St. Peter's Church organist, Mrs. McPherson, and choir being in attendance. The ushers were Messrs. E. Chester, Jnr., L. The gown featured a shaped broad scalloped edged band of fine lace inset round the front waistline with matching transparent scalloped lace yoke, lace also being inset and pointing down the wrist length, buttoned finished sleeves. From the long closely loop-buttoned back, fell the wide graceful train with i'nsets of lace motifs and edged with narrow pleated tulle as was the heartshaped neckline. The very long, fine tull veil was hand embroidered with dainty true lovers' knots, havrng lace centres. It was turned back from the face and held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms backed by narrow pleated tulle. She wore a triple string of pearls and carried a beautiful shower bouquet of white roses and gladioli. In attendance were her sister-in-law, Mrs. D. G. Leng-Ward, Miss Elsie Knowles and Miss V. While the register was being signed the choir sang delightfuliy, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills," the soloist being Mr. G. W. Hunt and the duettists Miss Katherine Williams and Mrs. C. R. Robotham. In the P.D.C. lounge while waiting for the bridal party to arrive, Mrs. Leng-Ward, who wore a dusky pink and nigger brown ensemble, small matching two-toned hat with brown eye veil, brown accessories and a corsage of pink roses, received more than 110 guests. She was assisted by the bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Haselden, who for this occasion had chosen to wear a navy charmeuse rouleaux trimmed ensemble with matching accessories and corsage of rea roses. On their arrival the bridal couple was greeted and felicitated by the guests as the latter passed from the lounge to partake of the wedding breakfast, the bridal party lastly formrng a procession to their table. Rev. Datson was a most genial toastmaster and, following the loyal toast, proposed that of the bride and bridegroom. Prior to the bridesmaids handing round the cake, Rev. Datson took the opportunity of making a short happy speech and ceremoniously handing the marriage lines to the bride for safekeeping. Further hospitality was extended to the guests by Mrs. Leng-Ward at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Pascal ' Street, Palmerston North, where social i'ntercourse and refreshments were enjoyed until late afternoon.
