WELLINGTON, April 8. A rise of six inclies in the level of Lake Waikaremoana since Friday is due neitlier to rain nor the conservation of power, according to an otficial of the State Hydro-electric Department, who said today that morc water drawn otf Taupo to speed the lilling of Karapiro had generatcd more power at Arapuni and so allowed the geueration of less at Waikaremoana. . Taupo 's level dropped three inclies over the weekend, parlly because more water was drawn off for Karapiro and partly because there was no rain in the area.
