OBITUARY
MR. W. R. J. FRANKLIN The death occurred at his residence, St. Helier's, Auckland, recently of Mr. W. R. J. Franklm, at one time a well-known resident of Otaki, and brother to Mrs. Herbert Jones, also a resident of Otaki some years ago. Mr. Franklin, aged 74, was at one time a president of the Waikato A. and P. Association, and until his retirement . about two years ago was engaged in farming at Newstead, where he resided for many years. He served in the Boer War, and for many years was president of the Matangi Polo Club. He had always taken a keen interest in the affairs i of the Waikato A. and P. Association, being president in 1940-41. He was an honorary life member of the association. Deceased is survived by a wife and one son. Mr. Franklin's father was also resident in Otaki for some time, being a well-known solicitor.
