... .. CHEISTCHURGH, April 7, Two men reeeived fatai injuries and two other passengers were^ injured wheli a car collided with a trajn on thg railway crossing at Addington this afternoon! They were: , . Killed. ■ Nornian Vicior Bowden, a stockman, aged 32- years, married, of 5 Pope Street. George Leslie Bowden, a painter, aged 33 years, married, of Coronation Street. , Injured. Stanley Bowjen, aged 31 years. Brittan Terrace, Lyttelton, who sutfered head injuries. Alice Bowden, aged 3$ years, wife of George Leslie Bowden, who reeeived in juries to her back. The car was being driveh from Halswell where the brothers had been yisiting their pare'nts. The train, coming into Ch.risteh.urch- from Rangiora shortly before 1.30 o 'clqck, struck the car on the level crossing, throwing it to one side of the line. The victims were taken to hospital by the-St. John - ambulanee. Norman Bowden was found to be dead on arrival and George Bowden died about two hours after admission. The accident occurred only 30 yards* from the home of another_ brother. Nofman Bowden was a well-knowrt hockey player. He represented New Zealand in .1935 and 1938.
