WELLINGTON, April 2. A special meeting of the executive of • the Hutt Valley Boxing Association at Petone tonight passed a resolu'tion to expel Mr. W. M, Brosnan, a member of the executive, from the Association. Earlier in the hieeting Mr. Brosnan 's solieitor, Mr. E. F. Rothwell, toid. tho executive that any. such decision would be challenged in Court. Mr. Brosnan and his- solieitor had lef t "the meeting before the Tesolutio'n was passed. ' . Mr. Brosnan w*as called before the meeting. .to show cause why he should not be expelled from the association. He attended with Mr, Rothwell who, at I the opening of the ineeting, stated that upon the, basis of certain f acts which he preferred at that stage not to disclose, he had come to the conclusion that tho meeting was not properly constituted. Cn fact, it appeared probable that- the committee was also improperly constituted and accordingly unable to exercise any powers of expulsion or any other powers. Further, no specific charges had been made against Mr. Brosnan, who was entitled to know what he had to meet and should not be required to speeulate as to the exact nature of the charge brought against hin'i. For those reasons, Mr. Rothwell contended that the meeting was not competen't to expel his client •from membership and that any decision to that eud the meeting might purport .to make would be challenged in the appropriate court.
