In the handicap doubles the semi-final and final were played: The semi-final resulted in Misses M. Aikman and J. Brown defeating Mrs. Porter and Miss M. Karauti and Mrs. C. Bell and Miss V.. Taylor defeating Misses P. Bell and R. Blaeklaws. The title went - to Mrs. Bell and Miss Taylor in the final. Men's Section The men's championship singies title went to M. R. Smith (Levin) ■ who defeated C. Atmore (Otaki) 6 —4 and 6 — 1. In the semi-final Smith beat L. Staples (Manakau) 9 — 4, and Atmore beat T. E. Douds 9—5. In the handicap singles event . A. F. Landers (Weraroa) beat T. E. Douds 9 — 3. The semi -finals resulted in Landers defeating R. A. Fraser and Douds beating S. Atkins. • Two Koputaroa .players annexed the handicap doubles title in a very close game. They were M. J. Ching and H. Mackle, who defeated T. E. Douds and D. K. Roskruge (Palmerston North) 9 — 7.
