SUGAR SUBSIDY LIFTED
WELLINGTON, March 31. Holdors of porinit.s have been advised by tlie j'iitioning authorities that on and after April .14 the subsidy at present paid by the Government on all sugar will 1«; wiflidrawn from sugat used for manufacturing purposes, ainl retained only 011 sugar sold for domesti c consumption or for use in serving hotel and restaurant meals. '•'This means you will be required to pay fuil rnarkct priee for sugar acquired against tlie enclosed permit and subsequent permits," said the adviee to holders of licenees for manufacturing purposes, "The full priee varies from time to time and it wil] be notitied by the Priee Tribunal (by way of pric'e order) and 1 >y the Oolonial Sugar Re- . flnitig Coy, Ltc], within the next few days and thereafter as changes oeeur. At present it is approximatelv £22 per ton above the current stabilised nrice. "
