DEALING WITH RUSSIA
Received 8undayj 7 p.m. WA8HINGTON, Mareli 28. Mr. George H. Earle, giving evidence before the House Committoe on UnAmericau Activities today, declared tliat if the Unite'd 8tates had not possessed tlie atomic bomb the Russian ariuies would have fanned out ail over Europe and most of Asia by now. Mr. Earle doubted whether "more than 19 per cent. of us- will be alive five years hence" because of the reluctance of the United States to atom bomb Russia. He said Russia could send atomic bombs in ships to New York, Boston and San Francisco. One superbouib, exploded in Baltimore, would wreck Wasliiugton. Giant submarines could fire jet-pro* pelied atomic bombs and 5110 aireraft from the Kuriles could cover all America. Mr. Earle suggcsted tliat America should perfect the mofit terrible weapons and hide them in tlie interior, thereafter notifying Russia that ' ' after the first atom bomb explodes here we will 'destroy every city u Russia."
