MUNICIPAL BUSINESS

COUNCIL IIOLDS SPECIAL MEETING A special meeting of the Otaki Borough Council was held on Wednesday mgnt, the Mayor, Mr. C. F.' Atmore, presiding.- There were also present Crs. Young, Gimblett, Hakaraia, Bennett and Cook. Accounts totalling £160 12s were passed for payment. It was decided that a list of long outstanding accounts be written off as Statute barred and irrecoverable. The list of unpaid rates for the current year was considered, and it was resolved that ° immodiately after Easter notices be sent out giving seven days in which to make payment. Cr. Cook was appointed to represent the council to hear the announ.cement in Palmerston North next Thursday by the Minister of Works, Mr. Semple, in regard to 'he ten-year plan of work for this district. The question of the suggested disposal of a tubular lorry was left in the har.ds of the chairman of works to attend to. The date of the next monthly meeting was fixed for April 16.
