AUCKLAND, March 27. Because of the condition of the wicket follov/ing the recent heavy rain, the.England-Auckland cricket match did not begin at 11 a.m. today as scheduled. A further inspection of the wicket was to be made noon and if it was stiil not suitable for play the turf would be again inspected at one o'clock. Hammond is not playing and Yardley captains Eneland.
