WELLINGTON, Mareh 21. The final mateh of the season for the Wilding Shield betw-een the Hutt Valley, the holders, and Otago, began at Mitcliell Parlc eourts, Naenae, today. Light rain throu-ghout the morning made the surfg^e greasy and a strong mutherly prevail'ed. At the end of an meomfortable afternoon Hutt were : eading Otago by four matehes to two ' lesuits (Hutt names flrst)-: ' Singles: R. S. McKenzie beat J. Rad ford 7 — 5, 6^—4; N. V. Edwards lost to T. R. Robson 3 — 6, 6-— 4, 3 — G; E. A Ro.ussell beat J. Paterson '6 — 3, ,6 — 4; F. S. Ramson beat B. Boyd 6—3, 6^ — 3 Doubles: McKenzie and Edwards teat Radf ord and Boyd4 6 — 2, 6 — 4 toussell and Ramson lost to Robsoft rand Paterson 4 — 6, 2—6.
