Manawatu River Loop Some very delmite statements concerning the Manawatu River loop were made at a meeting of the Moutoa Drainage Board, held in Foxton on Monday evening. The statements mostiy contradicted those made at the Foxton Borough Couneil meeting recently, to the effect that the loop was not tidal past Robinson's Bend. Trustee Cull said the main drain was now more tidal than ever it had been, and it was'further stated 'by those present that spring tides were just as high. as ever they were in the loop. The : "midsummer smells" were even i alleged to come from other sources j in no way connected with the river. j
