The Government's plans for curtailitfg- the consumption of electricity in the North Island, which will iiiclnde the discomieetion of power nsecl for domestic water heating, are expected to he aiinoiiiiced following a meeting of Cabinet tomorrow. The power situation was diseussed by Cabinet t-his morning and agaiii in the ai'ternoon when Ministers had before them the reeomniendations from the special - meeting of; the emergency committee of the Electric Power Boards and Supply Authorities Association for the saving of power. The Minister of Supply, Hon. D. G. Sullivan, who presided in the absence from Wellington of the Prime Minister, stated this evening that finality was not reaehed today and that discussions would be resuined by Cabinet tomorrow.
