VIC PATRICK WANTS WORLD TITLE BOUT
SYDNEY, Mar. 18. After disposing of Eddie Marcus in 80 seconds 'with a straight left to the jaw, the Australian lightweight boxing champion, Vic Patriclt, said he wanteo to contest the world cliampionship. He asked for a concrete promise that Stadiums Limited would match him in a bout for the title. If they were not able to arrange that, he was prepared to go with his wife tb America. Patrick said he believed his form was as good as ever, but that fights were few and far between. A group of spoftsmen said after thc light that tliey were prepared to back - Patrick- for £5000 in a world title - match. Ile had now had 50 fightSj oi which he had won 47. He lost on poihts to Bos Mufphy, on a foul to Tod Morgan ahd on a technieal knoekout to Les Sloan. His traineq Mr. Marcus W. McConnell, said: "Patrick is a gr.eat lighter. It is nofv up to Austrlflia "to get him a world title bout."
