AUCKLAND, March 14: People using buil'ding materials in -ontravention of the regulations should be made to pull down the material whieh possibly should be confisc.ated. . ..This view was expressed by Mr. F. II. Levien," S.M., today when hearing charges of breaches of the building emfifgert'cy regulations. He said it was necessary to impose fines whieh would not only puiiish ddfeiidants but also dis suade other people from "trying to get away with it". He fined a eontractor and plumber each £20 for using iron .spouting in con travention of tlie regulations. In ah other caste involving the building of a bfick stfuctiife and erOcting an army liut without, permission, he imposed a fnid of £40.
