EVERYMAN'S HUT REUNION

PLEASANT . EVENING SPENT Ex-servicemen, with their friends and members of the- Levin Go#el Hall and Queen Street Hall congregations; met last Monday night, the occasion being an Everyman's Hut, re-Uniop. convened, ,by the Levin branch of ihe Everyinah's Hut Committee. -The function was "attended by 109 or more Who enjoyod a very pleasant evening. Mr. R. Roiston welcomed the men and all present, and expressed the pleasure of meeting in the original Everyman's Hut, it being the first hut to be erected in New Zealand. Mr. Enoch Coppin ahd Mr. L. Taylor, the two speakers for the evining, were then ihtfoduC'ed ard; a warm welcome wks extendfcy^to them. Plbasure was expressea" in that 'Mr. Coppin WaS a ohe' time

He then made referehce to the fact that the old hut, which had seen such good service, had received a decoration. that of W.H., which stbod for Welcome Hut, ex-Everymah's Hut, and now included eyery woman also. He then referred' to the ex-servicemen who had pasSed on since the last re-union in Levin, and the gathering stood in silehce as a mark of respect, with prayer I following for those who had lbst j their loved ones. , The Mayor, Mr. H. B. Burdekin, very fittingly responded on behalf of the servicemen, and in his remarks gave an outline 6f the principles for which the R.S.A. stood.
