The danger to the power supply of the Dominion w)iich existed beeause of the possibility of earthquakes or other disasters, was stressed in a remit ''be fore the conferene.e of the Assoeiated Chambers of Commerce todav, urging that" pressure be exerted on the authorities for consideration of an alternative supply whieh eould be used to supple ment the exisfing main supply for the time being and whieh - eould alleviate the situation in the event of a catastrophe.
