ENGLAND LOSES THIRD OF SHEEP

The latest estimafce is that onethird of the sheep population oi England and Wales died from exposure during the icy weather of the past few w§eks, mostly on upland Yorkshire and Durham farms, says the Daily Telegraph's agricultufal correspondent. Others extricated rnay not survive and many more are unlikely to carry their lambs. It will be" the worst lamhing season in history. *
