MISSING GIRL SAFE
. GISBORNE, March 11. Missing on the rugged bush-clad slopes of Mt. Hikurangi for two davs and iiights, Miss Therese Tangney, the 21 year old school teacher of Ruatoria, is tonight safe at Horehore Station, 20 miles from the point wliere slie set out. on Sunday alone to climb the mountain. She is fatigued but in good physieal shape. After Teaching the summit on Sunday she lost her bearings when enveloped by cloud and for two days fol lowed a. stream until she emerged from the bush at the back of Horehore station. She hailed the m'anager who was working in a paddock. He gave the famished girl his luneh and took her to the homestead where she is recovering from the ordeal.' A telephoned message shortly after the girl 's arrival called off the search by climbers and bushmen under police supervision aided by the Gisborne Aero Club's moth piloted by Mr. L. R." Renolds, and army radio equipment. Miss Tangney, who was clad only in shorts, blouse and sweater, had had no food except a dozen sandwiches and cliocolate " biscuits with wiiich p.lio siart.fid the elinvb on Suuday.
