WELLINGTON, Mar. 9. A suggestion that it is tipie New Zealand followed the reported decision of the British Cabinet ip ordering a 10 per cent. cut in the civil service is made by the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand. The associated chambers hold that such a decision would materiallv assist to offset New Zealand 's officially admitted shortage of 24,000 workers. The statement'points out that in the United Kingdom there is One civil servant to every 64 persons, and in New Zealand one to every 19. It would appear from statistics that more than 124,000 employees received tlieir salaries or Avages from the Government, national or local. For a country with a population of 1,688,000 this was an oppressive administrative burden, added the statement. ,»)
