Many thanks.^ Football Meeting _ Tne annual meeting of the Otaki Football Club will be held tonight, when it is hoped that all interested will attend. The season .promises to be a good one. Pension Payments Family pensions are being paid out at the Otaki Post Office today. Old age pensions will be paid on the 19th, widows, etc., on the 20th, war pensions on the 21st, and veterans and universal superannuation on the 31st. Mail Irregularity Three parcels sent to England at different times are reported to have reached their destination 'at the same time, despite the fact that there was a iapse between; the sending of each parcel. This is information received per air mail letter yesterday.
Picnic at Paekakariki More than 2000 attended, the Labour Party's victory picnic at Paekakariki on Saturday, two special trains conveying parties to Ihe beach. Among those present were the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, and Mr. C. H. Chapman, M.P. Prizes won at the sports were presented by Mr. Fraser. Sports at Domain The last of tiic scries of evening sports meetings will be held at the Otaki Domain on Wcdnesday evening, commencing punctually at 6.30 p.m. An attractive programme has been arranged and a nmnber oi outside compctitors are expected. Competition with local athletes should be keen.
