BUCKLEY GOLF CLUB
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING The ninth annual general meeting of the Buckley Golf Club was held in Laurvig's Hall on Wednesday evening. Although the attendance was not very great, it is expected that the coming season wiii be a successful one. In his report, the retiring president (Mr. C. M. Cronquest) expressed pleasure in a very successful season. Although the number of members at the general meeting was not at all encouraging, on opening day members attended in full force. The condition of the links over the first few weeks of the season was not very good, the grass being long and the greens not in the best condition. However, as this was the club's first season after, coming out of recess from tne war years, these conditions had to be expected. It was not long, however, thanks ' to the greenkeeper, Mr. R. Hayes, and the Stern Bros., and also a willing band of workers, before the links improved and at the end of the season they were in very good order. The season brought about the revival of interclub games,4 at which the Buckley Club acquitted itself very well indeed. „ •
Mr. cronquest, coneiuaea nis report by extending thanks to the committee for its excellent help during the past season, and to the secretary, Mr. E. T. Wilson, for the admirable manner in which he had carried out his duties. Thanks were also due to those members who had worked so hard to put both .the links and clubhouse in order, and to the ladies of the club and those responsible for the afternoon tea arrangements.
