HYAMS' TROPHY BOWLING

This very fine Hyams' trophy was played for on the Otaki Bowling Club's green on Saturday, when no less than eight rinks from the Paraparaumu Beach Club were in attendance. The ' day was. beautifully fine,v the green in good order, and interesting matches resulted. Paraparaumu proved the . victors, winnmg f our games to Otaki's three, with one drawn. - Rinks skipped by Wilson, Pike and McGilligan were the winners- for Otaki, while Morton's rink registered a draw. Mr. W. Wilson, president of the Otaki Club, welcomed the visitors, while at the conclusion of play he presented the trophy. In doing so he offered his congratulations and called for cheers. Mr. McCulloch replied on behalf of the visitors, thanking Mr. Wilson for • his remarks. Ple said that his side had had a most enjoyable day, .and fully appreciated the hospitality of the Otaki Club. Cheers followed, with more for the ladies who had supervised and carried out the afternoon tea arrangements. Results.— Games : Paraparaumu 4, Otaki 3. Points: Paraparaumu 160, Otaki 150. ' ; Match With Levin Central A match with Levin Central is being arranged for next Saturday. Three rinks will go to Levin, while three from the Central. Club will play at Otaki. Names of intending players are invited. Tournament at Railway At the weekend a tournament will be held at Otaki Railway, and a full green is expected. 'The_playr ing area is in good order and interesting games should result.
