FIRE AT OTAKI BEACH

WASH-HOUSE DEMOLISHED Shortly before 4.30 o'clock on Sunday morning, an outbreak of fire was discovered in the washhouse adjoining the- residence of Mr. Jackson; at Otaki Beach. It demolished the wash-house in record time, and then spread to the dwelling adjacent, where a bedroom suffered considerable damage, the roof ultimatoly falling in and the contents being destroyed. The house, a flve-roomed oue, was threatened, but was saved through the gobd work of the fire brigaae. The dwelling, situated in Manuka Street, was the property of Mr. Mick Giddens.
