PersonaL Miss Wood, of Taihape, is at present the guest of Mr. and Mrs. McGilligan. Misses Violet and Mary Taylor arrived home on Saturday after a very pleasant holiday in Marlborough Sounds. Mr. Wesley Knight, who has been in hospital . in Wellington, has returned home, benefited by the treatment received. Among visitors to Otaki on Saturday was Mr. Morrie Wood, the well-known ex-All Black footballer. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Penney, who have been on holiday in the Hawke's Bay district, have returned to Otaki. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Wilson, after a stay in Rotorua, where the former attended the Municipal Conference, have returned home. Fixed Bicycle Lights / It has been pomted out that electric torches carried in the hand jy cycle riders are illegal. Lights on cycles must be fixed. Chinese Celebrations A number of Otaki Chinese yesterday visited Levin to participate in wedding celebrations. A similar function was held in Wellington. White Butterflies White butterflies are more numerous in Otaki .than for years past. They are certainly proving a pest to many, especially the commercial growers. Samoan. Chiefs in Otaki Five Samoan chiefs, who stopped to dine at a local tea rooms on Saturday, were the centre of intcrest. They were dressed in their native costume, and conversed in language unknown to other diners at the restaurant.
