Personal Misses T. and J. Moynihan are leaving on Monday to spend a vacation in the South Island. Dr.' and Mrs. J. M. Wilson and their two children have arrived in Shannon from Timaru. Dr. Wnson hopes to commcnce practice in this town within the next few days. Dahlia Show Competitions The competition win-ners at the recent dahlia show conducted by the W.D.F.F. were Miss G. Chester, Mrs. A. R. Mills, Miss Joan Moynihan and Mrs. S. Free. Plunket Baby Carnival A further progress report on voting in the Plunket Socieuy's baby carnival was issued yesterday by the secretary, Mrs. J. Creagh. The names of the leading babies are now: No. 5 (David Bateman) 1, No. 11 (Wendy Wishart) 2, No. 24 (Stewart McDonald) 3, ' No. 17 (Dawn Easton) 4, No. 2 (Josephine Batt) 5, No. 4 (Helen Tremewan) 6. The competition will conclude next Friday evening. AII votes must be in the box by 8 p.m. on Friday. Marching Team's Meeting A short meeting of the Parents' Committee of the local marching teams was held in the supper room of the Druids' Hall on Thursday evening. Mrs. W. R. Clough presided. The representative on .the executive of the Marching AssociaTon, Mr. T. S. Downes, reported on a recent executive meeting at which it was decided'to hold a prechampionship display of the Horowhenua teams, at Shannon, on Saturday, March 15. It was decided to hold over the catering arrangements until such time as it was known how many teams would be visiting Shannon. A further meeting was set down for Tuesday, March 11. Ail parents of girls in the teams are requested to be present. The meeting will be held in the Druids' Hall at 8 p.m.
