AUCKLAND, Mar. 7. The largest eoal producer in the Wai kato fields, the Macdonald mine, was idle again today for the iifth successive day and the nearby Glen Afton mine, whose workers went out in sympathv with the Macdonald strikers, was idle for the second day. However, if tluwishes of the Northern Miners' Unioj) executive are carried out 'by members. all mines should be working on Mol day. The Alison mine, in addition to the two mines owned by Glen Afton Collieries, Ltd., was idle yesterday bu worlc began there again this morning. The liold-up was in no way associated with the trouble at the other two mines. The production loss caused by the hold up at the Macdonald and Glen Afton mines this week rose to more than 3500 tons. When the men declined to work today no meetings were lield at the two mines. The men just did not arrive for work.
