-Press Association

By Telegraph-

WELLINGTON, March 7. The X.Z.R.S.A. states that the progressive increase in building costs has lieeii to make it almost inipossible to erect a honse with £1500, the limit set upon rehabilitation loans granted for this purpose. The Dominion executive of the N.Z.R.S.A. has considered a re-' comniendation from its rehabilitation sub-committee on this question and has rcsolved that the Government.be asked to give urgent eonsideration to raising the £1500 loan limit for the purpose of building or purchasing houses, to £2000. In sulmiitting this resolution in' urgent Jetters to tlie Prinie Minister, the Minister of Finance and Minister of Rehabilitation, the X.Z.R.S.A. pointed out that the question of inflation could be guarded against in the case of building by restrieting the cost per foot for the erection of new dwellings just as the purchasing of a Lorne already ereeted was prot.ect.ed by the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Saies Act.
