After g final eonference, with the British Food Minister, Mr, Strachey, the Secretary of Agriculture, MfAnderson, said an agreement was reached ta send substantial quahtities of beef to Britain to Qhviate a ration cut there. Furthermore, assistan.ee would be given Britain in the. hiulding up of a reserve stockpile oi' wheat and other foods from this year's harvest to prevent shortages developing next winter. Mr. Anderson, said the beef and veal would be sent to Britain by the spring and also some surplus turkeys which the Agricultural Departm,ent was acquiring to prevent the price falling in America. The grain supply to England would begin early this year and proceed at the rate oi 100,000 tons monthly.
