-Press Associatidn

By Telegra&n-*-

WELLINGTON, Mar. 4. The r-elationship betv/een thePuhlic Seyvice uommission and the New Zealand Puhlic Service Association will be restored as from tomorrow. The Commission withdrew recognition of the assbciation last Tuesday, Pebruary 25, when the association gave its full support to the refusal of mental hospital staffs to work overtime. The acting-president of the association, Mr. L. G. Anderson, said tonight that advice had heen received from the Public Service Commission that it was prepared to resume reiations with the association as i'rom tomorrow. Mr-. Anderson said the association had accepted this. Mr. Anderson 's announcement followed a meeting of the executive officers tonight. Earlier in the day a meeting with the Prime Minister had been held. No further official statement is made but it is understood the matter in dispute concerning overtime payments in mental hospitals, has not yet been settled. The position has sufficiently clarified for the Commission to receive further representations from the association.
