Beautiful Array of Blooms Tlie annual i)g.nlj.a Show of the Women's Division of Federated Farmers held on Friday was opened by xVJLrs. W. F. Field, president oi the Balmei'ston North branch and member of the Dominion Advisory Board, who eonjfratulated ajl who put in entries especially in tlie cooking section. The convener of the show, Mrs. K. Thomson, presented Mrs. Field with a fioral spray Mrs. C. Guerin (president) congratulated Mrs. Thomson (convener) and Mrs. E. H. Chartcr (secretary) on the staging of the show, the prizewinners and the judges for their work. There were good entries in the dahlia section, the judge remarking that there was some uice stuif especially after having experienced a recent storm. Lilcewise the gladioli section was large with some beautiful blooms. The children 's decorative section displayed some very good work. Very good quality cooking was entered. The small dispiay of vegetables was of fairly good quality. The needlework was a fairly good section. The following programme of entertainment was given in the evening: — Songs, Mr. N. Jennings; sailor's tap, J\liss Ngaire Peachj pianoforte solo, Miss Abraham; humorous recitation, Miss June Koberts; violin solo, Master Bruce Lind; tap dance, Margaret Maclean. Mr. J. McNeile presented the prizes and expressed his pleasure al the recognition given Federated Farniers by fishing their president to ofliciate at their sister organisation 's shovv. The prize list was as follows; — Champion bloom of the show, a dahlia "I'op Harris" exhibited by JMiss M. AVilson, Opiki. Silver cup for inost points in show, Mrs. G. Guerin. Hyde Memorial Cup in decorative section, Mrs U. Guerin. Points pri/.e for giaut dalilias, Mrs. II. Saines, Opiki; novice dahlias, Master R. Bowker; section B, dahlias, Mrs. 0. Itobinson, Opiki; gladioli, Mr. H. Stokes, Tokomaru; miscellaneous, Mrs. L. H. Best; children 's decorative, under 10, Bobby Third; over 10, Aileen Kilmister; vegetables, Mrs. J. Bowker; home industries, Miss D. Ward; needlework, Miss B. Coley. The judges were: Mr. A. J. Sliailer (Palmerston N.), dahlias and gladioli; Mr. O. Malcoliri (Levin), miscellaneous; Mrs. A. Eees (Palmerston N.), decorative; Mr. J. Swindlehurst, vegetables; Mrs. Hunt (Fitzlierbert West), home industries; Mrs. J. Newton, needlework. The stcwards were: Mr. and Mrs. ,T.
