ARGENTINE'S HUGE PROFIT ON MAIZE DEALS
Received I\Tondav 7.0 p.m. LOXDON, Mar. 2. The Argentine Government 's bulk selltng agency is making another hugi prolit, this timo on niaize deals with Britain, says the Daily Telegr.aph. The neAvspaper recentlv reported that Ar gentina made 1(H) per cent protit on a wheat deal wit-h Britain and it now says that of £1 ,(500, 000 which Britain will pay for 1 ,000, 000 tons of the new erop of mai/.;1, not less than £750,000 will be protit for tht Argentine Government. The prolits which Argentina is making is at the expense of Britain. Argentina is selling mai/.e to Britain at £l!i 12s a ton f.o.b. which is coniparable witli the present price of I'nited States mai/.e but the Argentine Government pays its farmers only £7 11s n ton and apnropriates the difference.
