Personal. Mr. Harold Cockrell, of Auckland, is among the visitors to Otaki, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rule arc at present spending a holiday at Taupo. Among the visitors to Otaki for the Methodist jubilee celebrations'is Mr. Frank Penn. of Auckland, for ■many years a resident of Otaki. I Miss Audrey King leaves for a holiday in Auckland on Monday. Mrs. King is at present sojourning in the north. Mrs. Dowdall and Miss Gillespie, who have been visiting Otaki, return to Hastings at the weekend. Mrs. and Miss Paterson, who have been holiday-making in Otaki, will spend a vacation at Paraparaumu before returning to their home at Hawera. The death occurred in the Palmerston North Hospital on Friday of Mr. Stephen Joseph Osborne, of Otaki. Deceased was 43 years of age. Miss Rosa Mills, who recently met with an accident in Wellington, is reported to be making good progress and is at present in Levin. Mrs. Higgs was among ihe passengers on the Wahine which left for Sydney yesterday. Mr. Rex Nicolson, who has been spending a holiday with his parents in Otaki, left by the Wahine yesterday en route to Darwin, via Sydney, expecting to be away several months. South Africa may also be visited. Otaki Successes Mr. J. C. Neill was among the 1 dahlia exhibitors at the Palmerston - North show and secured four second prizes. Competition was very keen, some fine hlooms being shown. Shop Day The shop day held in aid of the Otaki Municipal Croquet Club on Friday, was very successful, the fine array of goods selling readily under the gentle persuasiori of members of the club. Inia Tewiata Fund Further donations have been received towards sending the Maori singer, Inia Tewiata, to Trinity College, London, for training.
